Strawberry Shortcake Wiki

Café Olé is a minor character making her debut in the 1980's series. She is seen in the television special, Strawberry Shortcake: Housewarming Surprise, which sees her as one of six international friends (the other five being Almond Tea, Crepes Suzette, Mint Tulip, Lem, and Ada) that Strawberry Shortcake invites to the mansion that she is moving to during the episode.

General Information[]

Café Ole was one of the friends made by Strawberry Shortcake during her travel around the world. She and the others came to Strawberryland to hold a party with the others at Strawberry's new home. From Mexicocoa, Café Ole came to Strawberryland with her pet and best friend, Burrito the burro. She lives in a ceramic house with corn sticking out of it.

Personality[]

Not much is known about Café Ole other than she is very adept at handicrafts like weaving items and objects. She also seems to like crafts or making clay objects in her spare time. She can often be seen with either her pet, Burrito or Strawberry. She also appears to be at least a little interested in dance since she taught Strawberry a Mexicocoa Hat Dance.

Appearance[]

Café Ole is a Mexican girl with small black/brown eyes. She has short, curly, dark brown hair with a tan-themed sombrero with a dark bow on top and a thin zig-zag line around the white brim. She wears a white dress with small flowers lining the bottom underneath a tan poncho with many patterns on it: blue line, yellow zig-zag, green line, red zig-zag, then a rainbow-themed tassel. She wears the normal green and white striped pantyhose and tan sandals.

Pets[]

In Strawberry Shortcake: Housewarming Surprise, Burrito makes an appearance of being a donkey with white fur.

Trivia[]

  • Café Ole's name is based on a coffee drink "Café au lait".
    • Her name is also based on the word "¡Olé!", a Mexican word meaning bravo.
  • In the specials and (at least some) merchandise, Café resembled Strawberry, with red hair and light skin.
  • She brings Caramel Flan to the housewarming party in the Strawberry Shortcake: Housewarming Surprise TV special in 1983.
  • Her pet Burrito is a burro, a term for a small donkey in Spanish and Portuguese.
