Strawberry Shortcake Wiki

Lime Chiffon is one of Strawberry Shortcake's new friends she met mid-way through the 1980's series.

The character makes her animated debut during the third special, Strawberry Shortcake: Pets on Parade. Lime is the bubbly, airy ballerina whose every movement is filled with elegance and smoothness, even if she gets in the way for some reason. With high energy and a light mood, Lime can often be found with her pet, Parfait Parrot.

For information on her counterpart from the 2003 series, see Lime Light.

In the 2021 series, Strawberry Shortcake: Berry in the Big City, she is one of the main characters, and is now an intelligent Afro-Latina girl with a love of fashion and books. Lime Chiffon co-owns and runs the LemonLime Time juice cart alongside her best friend and business partner, Lemon Meringue, at the Berryworks in Big Apple City. Her second best friend is Bread Pudding, who is just as much a fashionista as she is. Her dads are the historian Dr. Lime Pops and famous fashion designer Fluffy Chiffon, both of whom were a big influence on her current interests in fashion and learning.

Personality

1980's

A girl with a "flighty" personality, it can be pretty hard to hold onto Lime's attention for long. She doesn't seem to pay attention too much, so often has to be called to or pulled out of the way. But then she'll simply dance away without a care. It has been implied that Parfait may actually be smarter than her.

2021

"Lime Chiffon is the most stylish and booksmart friend around! Together with pet friend, Parfait the parrot they know a lot about a lot, sharing a love for fashion and books." - From the Berry in the Big City website

Lime is a sweet and friendly girl. She is the brainy, intelligent, and bookish one of the group. Just like Blueberry she loves mysteries and is eager to solve any. She randomly owns Sherlock Holmes-style hats and claims she knows everything about solving a mystery because she reads a lot of Apricot Christie books. (Apricot Christie is a pun on one of the most well-known mystery authors in the world, Agatha Christie.) She is often a know-it-all but means well. She also gets annoyed or tired easily and she's usually no-nonsense. She's close to Lemon Meringue.

Lime is not just a bookworm, she's also very into fashion. She likes exciting and extravagant new styles, as well as fancy but classic and simple styles. She strongly believes that you cannot go out to a nice restaurant without being dressed in the proper dress code. This influence is probably from her dads.

Lime also tends to be loud and gets manic in small bursts when she is excited about something. Other times she is usually more serious and composed.

Appearance

1980

Lime Chiffon is a cute green-themed girl with fair skin and small green eyes. She has grass green hair styled in a flared-out bob cut, worn with a two-layer, white and pink hat resembling a cake with a pastel pink scallop-lined bottom piece. On the center of the cake is a green string ribbon. Lime wears a mint-green dress with white frilly sleeves and ribbon lining the bottom with a daisy every few inches. Her stockings are the basic green and white stripe, and she wears a dull pair of ballet flats. She is usually seen in pretty, flamboyant poses.

1991

This brief reboot version of Lime looks the same as before but got an outfit update. She has pink and light pink striped leggings, a leotard with a pink t-shirt under it, a thin tutu, and lost her hat. Like many other girls, she replaced her hat with a bow. Hers is pink and large with flowy material, and she tied it on like a headband. In the center, there is a swirl dollop of Meringue.

2021

Lime is now a plus-sized brown-skinned girl with green eyes, baby-fat cheeks, square glasses, and green pearl earrings. She has brown and lime green-streaked hair in pigtails and lime-shaped hair barrettes. Lime wears a lime green overall skirt with a lime emblem on it over a sky blue t-shirt and pale blue leggings, and lime green riding boots. Her skirt is stylized to look like a lime wedge.

In summer episodes, Lime wears a sleeveless jumpsuit with a lime-green and pale-green vertical stripe pattern all across, a sky-blue sash belt tied in a bow, and close-toed sandals.

In winter episodes, Lime wears her normal clothes, with a large green winter coat that covers her body down to her knees, sky-blue mittens, and a pale-green scarf with a lime wedge pattern.

Parfait Parrot (1980s)

Parfait Parrot (BitBC)

Lime's pet in this series is Parfait once again. He appears to be a different species of parrot, with a less fluffy appearance. He has normal orange for his beak and talons. His plumage is now dark green with light green accents, and a blue tip at his tail. His eyes are lime green and the surrounding plumage is stylized to look like square glasses, matching his owner. Parfait wears a small green vest with a dark green outline. Just like his previous incarnation, Parfait can speak and is voiced by Tabitha St. Germain. He regularly communicates with his owner by talking. Parfait can use his wings like hands, even able to hold things like tacos in them without difficulty.
