Strawberry Shortcake Wiki

The Berry Princess is a character from the 1980's Strawberry Shortcake series, making her debut as the deuteragonist in Strawberry Shortcake Meets the Berrykins. She served as guardian and caretaker for the Berrykins until letting the Strawberrylanders adopt them. No other generation has featured a proper counterpart for her, though she is similar to the Princess Berrykin from Strawberry Shortcake's Berry Bitty Adventures. She was voiced by Susan Roman.

General Information[]

The Berry Princess was introduced in the final special, "Strawberry Shortcake Meets the Berrykins". She magically appears in Strawberry Shortcake's garden party looking for the Berrykins. The fruits Strawberry Shortcake and her friends got from berry hunting turned out to be the Berrykins that the princess has been looking for. The Berry Princess's job is to make sure that all of the fruits in Strawberryland have their delicious fragrances and the Berrykins are her helpers, she also has the same powers as them using her wand. She gets troubled after The Peculiar Purple Pieman and Sour Grapes released clouds into the air that made the sky rain and caused all of the berries and fruits in Strawberryland to smell like junk food. After hearing from Plum Puddin' that it will rain again and make more bad smells, she joins Strawberry and her friends to stop Pieman and Grapes. She tells the rest of Strawberry's friends to take care of the Berrykins while she takes Strawberry with her to stop Pieman.

Pieman developed a crush on her the moment he laid eyes on her, though she is oblivious to this. She manages to convince the Pieman to stop the clouds due to how swoon he is over her, but their problems were not solved yet as she hears that the Berrykins got kidnapped by a Berry Bird and the clouds were growing faster. She goes back to confront him and Strawberry tells her a plan, she has to try to stop or slow down the clouds while Strawberry gets the Berrykins. She manages to clear all of the clouds before it rained. After the incident, she sings a song for the Berrykins to sleep and requests for Strawberry and her friends to take care of the Berrykins for her and departs. For accepting her request she gives Strawberry and presumably her friends long hair.

She also appeared in the 1980s comics, though where those comics are in the timeliness of the 80s is unclear. She's shown to be able to heavily alter reality, easily removing clouds from The Land of No Return, change Pieman's tower into a pristine castle, and even make princes that turn into berries after a period of time.

Appearance[]

The Berry Princess has a more human-like appearance when compared to the other characters, having a tall, slender build unlike the children's chubby features and The Peculiar Purple Pieman's cartoonish physique. She has golden-blonde hair, with a braid going across the top of her head. She has a purple flower on either side of her head. She possesses Caucasian skin, lavender purple eyes, and pink lips. She wears a long pink dress. It has a light pink bodice with long, gold-trimmed, pink sleeves and a poofy, light purple skirt. She carries a pink star wand.

Personality[]

The Berry Princess is a very beautiful, kind, caring and loving person who deeply cares for the Berrykins and the inhabitants of Strawberryland. Her kindness even extends to The Peculiar Purple Pieman, despite him being the culprit of creating the clouds over Strawberryland. She is quite calm and serene as she didn't react negatively to Pieman and Grape's scheme or appear distressed from it. She has a delightful singing voice. She is also shown to have a good sense of humor, delighting in the Berrykin's pranks and has fun with magic herself.

Trivia[]

  • She resembles Glinda the Good Witch of the North from The Wizard of Oz film.
  • She does not like pineapples.
  • She is shown to be able to use magic even without her wand, using just her pinky she can cast any magic she desires if need be.
